As the parent or preschool teacher of bilingual children, your desire to help the kids in your care make the best possible start is natural…but how can you achieve this?
15% of Australian children live in homes where languages other than English are spoken.
It’s important for families and educators to know how to support their bilingual children, and it’s vital that you know how to separate ‘fact’ from ‘fiction’ when it comes to children who speak more than one language!
Join us for Kids First Children’s Services’ next free Community Service Seminar – a two hour evening event that will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to help your bilingual child enjoy social and learning success.
Texon Xu has a special professional interest in supporting bilingual children. Born in Australia to Chinese parents, Texon speaks several languages and has worked extensively with bilingual children.
At this exceptionally valuable event, Texon will explain the unique ways in which bilingual children learn and how parents and teachers can help them to benefit from the learning advantages that speaking more than one language bring.
Texon will address the questions that bilingual families have about raising their child in an English speaking community and share practical tips to help your child learn, make friends and succeed at home, preschool and school.
Every seminar guest will also receive a set of excellent free resources to take home.
How to Support Your Bilingual Child’s Learning and Language is best suited to parents and carers of children aged 0-6. Early educators, preschool staff, teachers and other professionals who work with young children are also most welcome to attend.
