Roberto is a warm and insightful psychologist who brings a calm, practical approach to his work with children, teenagers, and families. He joins the Kids First Children’s Services team in January 2026, offering counselling and assessment services to support young people’s emotional wellbeing, learning and development.
As a fully qualified Educational and Developmental Psychologist, Roberto provides therapy and assessment services that are developmentally informed and family-focused. He has worked in schools, research settings and private practice, and supports neurodivergent and neurotypical clients using evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT and mindfulness. Whether helping a child develop emotional regulation skills or supporting a teenager with anxiety, Roberto focuses on building strong connections and offering practical strategies that can be used in everyday life.
He has extensive experience conducting neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments for children and adolescents, including those exploring diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, intellectual disability, mood and anxiety disorders, and trauma-related conditions. Roberto’s holistic and strengths-based approach ensures that families receive clear, compassionate insights and practical recommendations that reflect each child’s individual needs.
Before qualifying as a psychologist, Roberto worked in human resources and operations across a range of industries in both Australia and his home country, the Philippines. These experiences have shaped his adaptable, culturally aware, and people-focused approach. He has a natural ability to put others at ease and values the opportunity to work alongside families and educators to help children thrive.
Roberto will begin offering appointments at Kids First from 12 January 2026. Rebates for his psychology sessions may be claimed through Medicare, private health funds and the NDIS.
