Tanya is one of those psychologists who really “gets” kids and their real world at home, school and preschool. For more than 30 years, she has been a trusted psychologist and educator providing support to thousands of children, adolescents, families and teachers.
Her long and accomplished career started in schools, where she worked for more than a decade as a highly qualified teacher. She is well-known in the northern beaches for her roles as an Assistant Principal Special Education, Wellbeing and Counselling Services Advisor, Head Teacher and classroom teacher.
A pivot to psychology gave Tanya the opportunity to bring her expertise to children, adolescents and their families in her roles as a Specialist School Counsellor and Registered Psychologist.
Tanya brings her deep understanding of children’s lives at home, preschool and school to her work with Kids First families. With a special interest in supporting parents and carers, she believes in giving every child the opportunity to feel safe, included and supported.
Tanya is a proud Aboriginal woman, committed to helping children and adolescents discover hope, healing and growth. She is known for her warmth, and for her practical, down-to-earth solutions to everyday challenges.
Tanya works part-time at Kids First Children’s Services and welcomes children of all ages and their families. She is also a member of the respected team at Berry Street Education, where she delivers programs in schools to help children and their teachers overcome barriers like trauma, disability and disadvantage.
