Fun facts

  • Agna is a keen surfer and likes nothing better than to spend time in the water waiting for the perfect wave.
  • She came to Australia in 2016 and loved it so much that she has become an Australian citizen.

Agna is an experienced psychologist with a warm, friendly approach and a great sense of fun. She is passionate about meeting children where they are at, and she brings energy and genuine care to every session so that kids feel comfortable, understood and free to be themselves.

Agna supports children and teenagers who feel anxious, low or overwhelmed by big emotions. Her therapy draws on CBT, ACT and DBT, and she adapts these approaches so they feel natural, practical and meaningful for each child and family. Whether a child is struggling with worries, big feelings, learning or life at school, Agna works with the whole family to build strategies that last.

Agna also completes assessments for children with learning differences such as dyslexia, specific learning disorders and giftedness, as well as other factors that may affect a child’s life and learning, such as ADHD. After each assessment, she provides a comprehensive written report and meets with parents for a feedback session, so families and schools understand how a child learns and have practical recommendations for home and the classroom.

Agna’s career spans schools, clinics and private practice. She began practising as a registered psychologist in Brazil in 2012, where she supported children with disabilities and their families. Her clinical training and work there also included group therapy to strengthen parent-child relationships.

Agna moved to Australia in 2016 and has called the northern beaches home ever since. Before joining Kids First Children’s Services, she spent more than three years at Learning Links, a non-government organisation, where she delivered psychological assessments and evidence-based therapy to primary and high school students, both in their schools and in the clinic. She has also worked in private practice.

Agna takes an evidence-based, strengths-focused approach to every child she sees. She gets to know each child’s interests and personality first, and then shapes therapy around what works for them, so that sessions feel safe, respectful and enjoyable. She values working with parents, carers and teachers, so that children receive consistent support at home and at school.

Agna works at Kids First Children’s Services from Monday to Friday. Rebates for her psychology sessions may be claimed through Medicare, private health funds, and the NDIS. She looks forward to meeting you and your family.
