As a Specialist Teacher embedded within the experienced Kids First clinical team, Emily plays a unique role in helping children’s therapy goals come to life in the everyday settings where they learn, play and build relationships.
Emily brings many years of experience working with children and families to her role as an Early Intervention Specialist. With a strong background in teaching, early intervention and inclusion, she has supported children with disability, developmental delay and complex health needs across preschools, schools, community settings and non-government organisations. This experience helps her provide support that is grounded in what works day to day and focused on what children need to do well in everyday life.
Working closely with children in their preschool and school environments, Emily supports participation, social interaction and inclusion in the places that matter most – classrooms, playgrounds and daily routines. She also works alongside families and educators, providing practical strategies, guidance and resources that help create support around each child that works well in everyday life.
Emily is known for her approachable manner and her ability to build positive relationships with children, families and educators. She enjoys helping the adults around each child better understand their needs, so children can feel more supported, included and able to take part in everyday life in ways that work for them.
