Event
Who Can Help?
Duration:
How to help children when their needs are out of our scope
Does your team sometimes feel that it is under-equipped to support the children and families who are part of your community?
Would you and your colleagues like to know how to make confident referrals when a child’s needs are beyond their scope?
Would it be helpful to have an understanding of funding options such as the NDIS, Medicare and health funds so that you can provide accurate information to the families you serve?
In this 2-hour workshop, presented by Kids First director Sonja Walker, your staff will learn about:
- The important role of GPs and paediatricians in helping children to access support
- The difference that speech therapists, OTs, psychologists, early intervention specialists, music therapists and other paediatric professionals can make to kids, families, and educators
- The things to look out for when referring a child to an external support service
- The funding options that are available to the families of young children who have unique developmental needs
Who Can Help? can be presented after-hours. All we ask is that a minimum of 12 staff members attend.
