Child Psychologist Job – Northern Beaches | Kids First Children’s Services
Join a values-led clinic where you’re a person first and a practitioner second.
If you became a psychologist to build genuine relationships with children and families, to guide them through difficult times and watch them grow, this might be the role you’ve been waiting for.
Perhaps you’re currently spending more time in meetings, managing crises and completing paperwork than you are doing the clinical work you trained for. Perhaps you’re feeling the weight of a system that asks a great deal of you, but doesn’t always give much back.
At Kids First Children’s Services, it’s different. We’ve built a warm, award-winning multidisciplinary team where psychologists are supported, valued and given the time and space to do what they do best.
This isn’t a sink-or-swim gig. It’s a salaried position with structure, collaboration and variety, where you’ll be respected as a person and as a practitioner.
What your days at Kids First could look like
Imagine starting your week knowing exactly who you’re seeing, with time to prepare, reflect and consult with colleagues. No crisis to manage before 9am. No committee meeting eating into your lunch break.
Instead, you’ll spend your days building meaningful relationships with children aged 5-18 and their families. You’ll work alongside experienced OTs, speech pathologists and early intervention teachers, some of whom may share your clients, and you’ll come together regularly for multidisciplinary case conferences that are genuinely one of the most rewarding parts of the week.
Your caseload will offer real variety – therapy, assessments, family consultations, and the chance to contribute to group programs. And with daily admin time built into every day and an early finish every Friday at noon, you’ll actually leave on time.

What’s in it for you?
Time to do thoughtful work
We protect our clinicians from unrealistic expectations. You’ll have a manageable caseload, proper admin time every day, and the systems and support to deliver genuinely high-quality care.
Real work-life balance
Early Finish Fridays (noon every week) and daily admin time mean you head into the weekend with energy left for life outside of work.
Colleagues who have your back
You’ll work side by side with psychologists, OTs, speech pathologists and early intervention teachers every day. Through shared clients, regular case conferences and discipline-specific Psychology Hubs, you’re never working alone.
Professional development and growth that’s tailored to you
Whether you want to deepen your therapy skills, build your assessment practice, or develop new programs, we’ll support you to grow at your own pace.
A secure, above-award salary
Stable income that reflects your experience and the value you bring. No chasing billables.
Our Clinical Excellence Program also provides additional financial rewards, on top of your salary, recognising the contributions you make to your clients and to our clinic.
A workplace that genuinely cares
Our Practice and Operations team manages your bookings, billings and reminders so you can focus on what you do best. We’re known for our kindness – to our clients and to each other.
The children and families you’ll support
You’ll work with children aged 5-18 referred by GPs, schools, and other health professionals, children with NDIS plans, and families seeking assessments or support during challenging times. Many of your clients will be known to your OT or speech pathology colleagues, which makes for genuinely collaborative and holistic care.

Who you are
You’re a registered or clinical psychologist who is warm, collaborative and ready for a role that values you as a whole person. You’re fully registered with AHPRA, eligible for a Medicare Provider Number, and experienced in supporting children, adolescents and families. You communicate with kindness and clarity, and you’re looking for a professional home, not just a job.
