Amy Jansen-Sturgeon

Psychologist

Amy is a dedicated child psychologist with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people and their families.

In her work, Amy focuses exclusively on children, adolescents, and their families, developing strong rapport and meaningful connections. With extensive experience across a range of client presentations, Amy has worked with individuals facing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, autism, and intellectual disability. She supports children to overcome their difficulties using a variety of therapy approaches, including CBT, ACT, and DBT.

Prior to joining the Kids First team, Amy worked for more than 7 years as a NDIS Local Area Coordinator and Team Leader. This has given her a deep understanding of how the Scheme operates and how to best support her clients within the NDIS framework.

Amy often works collaboratively with other members of Kids First’s multi-disciplinary team, using her extensive knowledge of children’s developmental, social and learning needs to provide cohesive support to children and their families. She is also an accredited facilitator of the Cool Kids Anxiety Program and Secret Agent Society program.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, Amy provides ASD assessments, ADHD assessments, and cognitive and educational assessments (including the WISC-V, WPPSI-IV and WIAT-IV).

She works at Kids First from Monday to Thursday, where her services can be claimed through health funds, the NDIS, and Medicare Plans set up by your GP. She looks forward to working with you and your family.
