Occupational Therapist

As an occupational therapist, Abby enjoys working with children of various ages, interests, skills and developmental levels.

She completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at Newcastle University, has worked in a variety of paediatric settings and brings both experience and enthusiasm to her role at Kids First.

Abby supports preschool and school aged children who need help to overcome fine and gross motor difficulties as well as children who have social and emotional regulation challenges. She helps kids who struggle with handwriting and organisational skills, as well as those who need help to remember the concepts and information that is taught by their classroom teachers.

Fluent in English, Cantonese and Chinese Mandarin, Abby can communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and is an integral member of our multi-disciplinary team. She works closely with colleagues, parents and teachers sharing practical resources and strategies that make life easier for children and their families.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)
  • College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing Scholarship Recipient
  • Accredited Occupational Therapist AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)

  • Abby has recently taken up surfing and can often be found at local beaches checking out the waves
  • Not satisfied with being tri-lingual, Abby is learning to speak French
  • Her 'fur babies' include her spoilt floppy eared bunnies, Happy and Morris
