This January, help your child make a confident start to finding and keeping friends in 2020!
Across 4 dynamic morning sessions, children aged 5 to 8 will learn and practice their social skills with Kids First Children’s Services’ professional social skills educator, Kirsty Gale.
Each session will include games, stories and other fun activities that focus on helping your child to think, speak and act in a positive way.

Preschool is over and ‘big school’ starts soon for our 2020 Social Stars. If your child is starting Kindergarten at the end of January, this program of four consecutive mornings of interactive activities will not only support school readiness, but provide your child with valuable practice as they move into a new chapter in their life.
Each day, between 9.00am and 12 noon, your child will mix with same aged peers to build play and communication skills. In a fun, supportive and understanding environment, the focus will be on helping your child to develop important social skills like:

Times: Daily 9.00am to 12.00pm
Cost: $600 for four sessions (12 hours total)
For children aged 6 to 8 it’s great to get back into the social swing of things before Term 1 begins. During four mornings of January fun, our Social Detectives will be encouraged to put their thinking, listening and speaking skills to good use as they learn to look for their peers’ ‘social clues’ and make connections with other kids.
Each day, between 9.00am and 12 noon, your child will mix with other early primary students as they learn and practice social skills like:

Kids First’s school holiday social skills groups are best suited to children who attend (or will attend) mainstream schools and whose learning and social differences impact on their ability to make and keep friends. It caters well for children who experience difficulty in the playground due to conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and emotional regulation challenges.

If your child is not a current Kids First client, you will need to attend a preliminary appointment with Kids First’s Early Learning Support Specialist prior to the confirmation of your child’s enrolment. This is to ensure that your child’s needs and goals can be catered for in the program and that this group is in your child’s best clinical interest.
