Originally from Western Australia, Rhiannan attended Curtin University where she completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy – Honours). She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents with additional needs and prior to joining the Kids First team, worked for the Autism Association of WA for several years.
Rhiannan’s work in paediatric private practice and the disability sector has given her many opportunities to support children and young people who have benefited from her creative, evidence-based approach to therapy. Trained in the DIR Floortime approach to therapy, as well as the 123 Magic behaviour and emotion coaching protocols, she brings a wide range of practical supports to the children and families in her care.
Rhiannan has a gentle personality and children warm quickly to her because of her sensitivity to their needs. Her enthusiasm and energy ensure that her OT sessions are fun for children and informative for parents, who appreciate the clear and detailed approach she takes to sharing information with them.
Rhiannan supports children of all ages and abilities, including those who need occupational therapy assessments and interventions to improve their fine motor skills, social skills, emotional regulation, visual perceptual skills and attention.
Rhiannan also has a particular professional interest in supporting who have sensory processing and emotional regulation difficulties and she is also passionate about helping children who struggle with conditions like ADHD and Autism.
