Career Opportunity:

Occupational Therapist

If you are looking for a paediatric Occupational Therapist job in Brookvale or on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Kids First Children’s Services is looking for another Occupational Therapist to join our team.

You will be joining our experienced multidisciplinary team of Child Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and specialist Early Intervention teachers in a practice where collaboration, mentoring and professional growth are part of everyday life.

This is a role for an Occupational Therapist who wants to keep building skill and confidence, work closely with children and families, and be part of a practice with experienced colleagues, strong systems, and a well-established local reputation.

Looking for more from your next OT role?

You may be ready for a role with:

  • more support from experienced colleagues
  • more time to think, plan and document properly
  • more day-to-day collaboration
  • more connection with children and families
  • more room to develop your clinical skills
  • less rushing, less isolation, and less risk of burnout

If that sounds familiar, you are not alone.

Many Occupational Therapists reach a point where they still care deeply about the work but want to do it in a setting that is better supported, more collaborative, and more sustainable.

The opportunity

We are looking for another fantastic Occupational Therapist to join Kids First in Brookvale.

This is a primarily clinic-based paediatric Occupational Therapy role, with some opportunities for local preschool and school visits where clinically appropriate.

At Kids First, our Occupational Therapists commonly support children with:

  • fine motor coordination
  • emotional regulation
  • sensory processing
  • functional independence
  • participation in home, preschool, school, and community routines

You will be working with children and families in a way that is practical, relationship-based, and focused on progress that matters in daily life.

What you will find at Kids First

Weekly OT mentoring

You will receive weekly 1:1 mentoring from an experienced OT Team Leader. This is not ad hoc support when something goes wrong. It is protected time for reflection, clinical discussion, problem-solving, and professional growth.

Daily admin time

Daily admin time is built into the role. That matters because good therapy includes planning, documentation, communication with families and schools, and time to think.

Weekly OT Hubs

Our OT Hubs provide regular discipline-specific professional development. They are a space to discuss cases, build knowledge, refine clinical reasoning, and keep developing your practice alongside other Occupational Therapists.

Fortnightly multidisciplinary case conferences

You will also take part in regular multidisciplinary case conferences with colleagues across psychology, speech pathology, and early intervention. These conversations help clinicians think broadly, plan carefully, and support children in a more connected way.

Strong systems and support

Our full-time Customer Service Team and Practice and Operations Manager are there to support the practical side of clinic life. That means less time spent chasing logistics and more time available for clinical work.

Early Finish Friday

Our team finishes at 12 noon on Fridays. It is one of the ways we protect time, energy, and sustainability across the working week.

Well-equipped therapy spaces

You will have access to well-equipped Occupational Therapy rooms and sensory gym spaces in our Brookvale clinic.

Salary and reward opportunities

This role includes an above-award salary plus quarterly reward opportunities that recognise consistent contribution.

About Kids First Children’s Services

Kids First Children’s Services is a long-established, award-winning paediatric practice based in Brookvale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Since 2007, our multidisciplinary team has supported thousands of northern beaches children and families. Over that time, we have built a strong local reputation for clinical excellence, integrity, and the warm, practical way we work with children, families, schools, preschools, and community professionals.

Families come to Kids First through word of mouth, medical referrals, and longstanding professional relationships. Many of the children we support are seen by more than one discipline, which means our Occupational Therapists are part of regular shared thinking with Speech Pathologists, Child Psychologists, and specialist Early Intervention teachers.

Who this role will suit

This role will suit an Occupational Therapist who:

  • has experience working with children in a paediatric setting
  • enjoys building warm, genuine relationships with children and families
  • communicates clearly with families, educators, and other professionals
  • values regular mentoring and discipline-specific support
  • enjoys collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines
  • is organised and able to manage time well in a private practice setting
  • wants to keep developing clinical skill, confidence, and contribution over time

Whether you are still building your career or bringing more experience with you, this could be an excellent next step if you are looking for the right fit.

    How we support our clinicians

At Kids First, we know that clinicians are more likely to do their best work when the support around them is clear, practical, and consistent.

That support includes experienced discipline leaders, weekly mentoring, scheduled professional development, regular multidisciplinary collaboration, daily administration time, and strong customer service and operational support.

It also includes being part of a clinic where systems are established, expectations are clear, and clinicians have regular opportunities to learn from one another.

We take paediatric practice seriously, and we also understand that sustainable work matters. That is why we have built structure into the role, protected time into the week, and support into the day-to-day experience of working here.

At Kids First, you are a person first and a practitioner second.

We give you the time you need. We respect the boundaries of your personal and professional worlds so that work stays at work.

    Hours and flexibility

This is a full-time paediatric Occupational Therapist role.

Our full-time team members work 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and enjoy an ‘Early Finish Friday’ when their day starts at 8.00am and concludes at 12 noon.

We are also open to discussing a 4-day week for the right person.

If you are looking for a slightly different arrangement, we are happy to have that conversation too.
