Linda Gilford – Psychologist


Linda is not only a Psychologist, but she is also a qualified Primary Teacher and parent of two primary school aged children.

With a long career working with children and families in schools and now in private practice, Linda has comprehensive understanding of children’s emotional, social, learning and behavioural needs.

Her sound working knowledge of the school curriculum enables her to support and advise families about the needs of preschool and school aged children and she is particularly passionate about supporting children and families struggling with issues such as behaviour problems, learning difficulties, giftedness, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and friendship concerns.

Linda has extensive experience supporting with children with additional needs and disabilities, and she has helped many families to develop positive working relationships with schools and preschools.

Linda also has a special interest in supporting families and children involved in out of home care and adoption.

As an adoptive parent herself, Linda combines her personal experience with evidence based strategies to provide understanding assistance in the area of attachment and the processes of adoption.

At Kids First, psychology, support and counselling sessions with Linda attract rebates from health funds and Medicare (with a plan arranged by your GP)

She is also a member of our Early Intervention team, providing funded support to children eligible for Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with Disability funding.
