Jayde Avery – Occupational Therapist

Jayde is originally from Port Macquarie and completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) degree at the University of Newcastle.

Her work in paediatric private practice and the adolescent mental health system has given her many opportunities to support children and young people who have benefited from her creative, evidence-based approach to therapy.

Jayde has a bubbly personality and children warm quickly to her. Her enthusiasm and energy ensure that her OT sessions are fun for children and informative for parents, who appreciate the clear and detailed approach she takes to sharing information with them.

Jayde supports children with a wide range of needs, including those who need occupational therapy assessments and interventions to improve their fine motor skills, social skills, emotional regulation, visual perceptual skills and attention.

Jayde also has a particular professional interest in supporting who have sensory processing difficulties and she is also passionate about helping children who struggle with conditions like ADHD and Autism.

She is an integral member of our multi-disciplinary Early Intervention team and also supports children who receive NDIS, Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with Disability funding.  Rebates for appointments with Jayde can be also be claimed through private health funds and Medicare (when a plan has been set up by a GP).
