Does your child:
- Have frequent tantrums?
- Meltdown at the slightest provocation?
- Find it hard to calm down after experiencing ‘big emotions’?
- Seem unable (or unwilling!) to listen or following instructions?
- Struggle to interact appropriately with other kids?
- Avoid messy play?
- Pinch, bite or hit other children?
- Get frightened by sounds like a flushing toilet, vacuum cleaner or barking dog?
- Eat a very restricted diet?
At Kids First’s next free Community Service Seminar, you’ll meet Allyce Cunningham, an occupational therapist with a special interest and many years’ experience in supporting children who struggle to manage their emotions.
Allyce has helped hundreds of families to overcome the emotional and behavioural challenges presented by senstive and strong-willed children whose sensory differences affect their behaviour.
In this valuable 2 hour presentation, Allyce will explain the link between your child’s sensory processing system and their tantrums. She will share proven strategies for reducing the number of meltdowns your child has and provide guidance about when to seek help so that your child can learn to enjoy life more and cope better at home, pre-school and school
