Occupational Therapist Team Leader

More pay, fewer clients, and a leadership role that values your impact on your team and community

Are you an experienced OT who feels stretched too thin? Do you find yourself juggling a high caseload alongside the demands of leading, mentoring, and supporting your team? You’ve earned the experience and skills, but the constant pressure of KPIs, Critical Drivers, and the endless balancing act between your professional and personal life might leave you questioning: Is this really worth it?

What if there was a leadership role that offered more? More pay, fewer clients, and a chance to be valued not just for the therapy you deliver, but for the guidance and support you provide to your team and the difference you make in your community?

At Kids First Children’s Services, we take a radically different approach to valuing our leaders. We recognise that leadership isn’t just about managing a caseload. We understand that to thrive in your career as a leader, there has to be more to life than KPIs.

Occupational Therapy job in Sydney

Here’s what makes this role different:

  • More pay, fewer clients: You’ll be well-paid for your expertise without the burnout that comes from juggling too many clients. We value your experience and pay you accordingly; while ensuring you have a reduced caseload so you can genuinely lead and support your team.

  • Leadership beyond client numbers: We know that a leader like you isn’t just a rockstar therapist – you’re a mentor, guide, and visionary who help others grow. At Kids First, you’ll have time in every day to supervise, encourage, and teach your colleagues, all while shaping the future of our clinic and playing a key role in decision-making.

  • Aligned with your values: You’ll be part of a leadership team that actively contributes to the growth of our award-winning practice and the community we serve. We plan and make decisions with our Core Values of Care, Kindness, Compassion, and Making a Contribution at the forefront of everything we do.

And it’s not just talk. At Kids First, we provide:

  • Weekly mentoring and shadowing opportunities so that your team gets meaningful and relevant support

  • Weekly discipline-specific ‘hubs’ to collaborate with your OT colleagues

  • Fortnightly multi-disciplinary Case Conferences with our team of experienced psychologists, speech pathologists, and early intervention teachers so that you and your team receive career enriching opportunities to learn from an exceptional group of colleagues

  • A generous external PD budget to keep you and your team growing

  • Quarterly off-site connection days to strengthen our team, and regular team socials – lunches, dinners – plus plenty of cake whenever we feel like celebrating (which is often!)
