20 Gross Motor activities for kids

Experts recommend that all children aged 3-12 should play outside for between one and three hours a day. Need ideas? Here are 20 easy outdoor games that will benefit your kids’ health, learning and social skills.

According to the Australian Government’s Department of Health, being physically active is good for your kids’ health, and creates opportunities for making new friends and developing physical and social skills.

It also encourages their self-esteem and emotional skills, while also improving their thinking and problem solving skills.Studies have also shown that healthy, physically active kids also are more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful in the school classroom.

But while the experts tell us that daily physical activity every day is important for our children’s healthy growth and development, the reality is that sometimes this can be hard to achieve.

The good news is that physical activity for children can include structured and free play activities…and while many are best enjoyed outdoors, there are plenty of games that can be varied for careful indoor play.

So get involved!!! You are the best role model our children will ever have and helping them to enjoy physical activity can be a life-long gift that can benefit them always.
