Natalie Dickson – Occupational Therapist

Natalie Dickson – Occupational Therapist

With more than 20 years’ experience as an occupational therapist, Natalie is a unique OT whose professional work is complemented by her life experience as the busy mum of teenagers.

Natalie’s long career has given her opportunities to build an extensive repertoire of professional skills, including vast knowledge of the biomechancial and functional needs of children with mobility issues and physical disabilities.

She has also worked closely with hundreds of children whose experience of the classroom, playground and sportsfield has been affected by motor coordination issues, handwriting problems and concentration difficulties.

Natalie is well-known in the northern beaches for the positive, caring and compassionate way in which she supports children and their families.

Prior to joining Kids First, she spent 11 successful years working with children and young people at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Allambie Heights.

Among Natalie’s many talents is her ability to identify the areas in which children are struggling and to devise practical therapy programs that provide solutions to their problems.

Natalie has a particular professional interest in supporting children’s learning with evidence-based occupational therapy strategies that are both fun and effective.

She is especially committed to helping children so that their preschool, primary and high school experiences are more rewarding and successful.

Over many years, Natalie has enjoyed opportunities to work with families, school, preschools and other organisations. As a result, she easily and willingly collaborates with parents, teachers and other professionals so that children’s needs can be met at home, in the classroom and in the community.

Natalie’s working knowledge of custom seating and mobility options for kids, as well as her experience in the disability sector make her an integral member of our multi-disciplinary Early Intervention team. Natalie also supports children who receive NDIS,  Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with Disability funding

Families who work with Natalie at Kids First soon discover that she is a dedicated, innovative and enthusiastic therapist who cares deeply for the children who come to her for therapy.
