Felicity Lear – Speech Pathologist

Felicity is an experienced speech pathologist who graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004.

Throughout her career she has worked in private practice and educational settings where she has supported babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children with a wide variety of speech, language and literacy challenges.

As the mother of three children, Felicity combines her personal and professional experience to deliver therapy that is engaging, interesting and fun for kids.

She helps children improve their ability to speak clearly, follow instructions, read, write and spell confidently.

She also works closely with parents so that families have information and strategies that enable children to feel more successful at home, preschool and school.

In addition to working with hundreds of children in mainstream schools and preschools, Felicity has supported children with intellectual or physical disabilities, developmental delays and autism to improve their communication and literacy skills.

Felicity has customised Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for children who struggle to speak or write. She also has a Certificate II in Auslan and has worked alongside bilingual families to improve children’s abilities in both their languages.

Felicity’s wide professional experience has given her opportunities to collaborate with teachers, education assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians and other professionals.

She has also presented numerous seminars for parents and early educators about children’s speech and language development.

Felicity is accredited by Medicare and private health funds, from whom rebates can be claimed for speech therapy.

She is also an important member of Kids First’s Early Intervention team and is qualified to support children who are eligible for Helping Children with Autism and Better Start funded therapy

Felicity works on Saturdays at Kids First. Call now to make an appointment with her on (02) 9938 5419
