Kids First’s Courageous Kids groups help anxious children to overcome their worries and build problem-solving and resilience skills.
Before Courageous Kids starts...
Before your child joins a Courageous Kids group, one of our experienced Child Psychologists will need to meet with you privately to discuss your child’s needs and to determine if a small group program is in your child’s best clinical interest.
These preliminary appointments run for 50 minutes and can be booked by contacting Kids First on (02) 9938 5419.
Courageous Kids is a weekly program that runs during school terms.
Sessions last for one hour and are led by a highly qualified Child Psychologist.
Courageous Kids groups contain a maximum of 8 children.
Your private health fund may offer rebates for this program and Kids First offers convenient, on the spot rebates through the HICAPS system. Please check with your fund to find out if your policy covers psychology group sessions.
Medicare rebates can be claimed for this program if the group contains 6 or more children. Please check with your doctor to determine your child’s eligibility for a Better Access to Mental Health Care Plan.
Due to the popularity of these groups, refunds are not given for missed sessions.
