April is a paediatric Speech Pathologist who holds a Masters’ degree in Speech Pathology from Macquarie University in Sydney and a Bachelors’ degree in Science from the University of the Philippines.
Prior to joining the Kids First team, April worked in a prominent private paediatric practice in Sydney’s western suburbs.
She has also worked in community health and hospital settings.
April is a bright, fun and knowledgeable speech pathologist who helps children of all ages and abilities to overcome their communication difficulties.
She particularly enjoys providing early intervention for very young children and has extensive experience with pre-schoolers.
April is also highly trained to help children aged 5 to 15 who have speech and language delays, speech sound disorders and literacy difficulties.
With a special interest in stuttering, April has provided successful has provided intervention to many children using the Lidcombe and the Camperdown therapy programs.
She has also worked frequently with children who have special needs and has strong experience working with children who have disabilities like autism.
April values the important part that families play in achieving children’s therapy goals.
She works closely with parents, teachers and other professionals so that children benefit from evidence-based strategies that work at home and in the classroom.
Rebates for appointments with April can be claimed through private health funds and Medicare (when a plan has been set up by a GP).
She is an integral member of our multi-disciplinary Early Intervention team and also supports children who receive Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with Disability funding.
