Allyce Cunningham – Occupational Therapist

Allyce Cunningham – Occupational Therapist

Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Allyce Cunningham, specialises in supporting children who have sensory processing, emotional regulation and learning difficulties.

Prior to joining the Kids First team, Allyce was the resident Occupational Therapist at the Aspect Vern Barnett School for children with Autism in Forestville, a role that gave her extensive working experience with children who are affected by conditions like Autism Spectrum Disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and developmental delays.

In addition to her work with special needs kids, Allyce also supports children who attend mainstream preschool and schools. She helps children who need to build core strength in order to improve their attention at home and in the classroom. She provides specialised support to children who experience Visual Perception challenges and to those who need to improve their concentration and memory so that they can learn more effectively in class and at home. Allyce also assists kids with fine motor and coordination skills like handwriting, cutting and dressing so that they can be more successful at preschool and school.

Rebates for occupational therapy with Allyce can be claimed through private health funds and Medicare (when a plan has been set up by a GP)

She is an active member of our multi-disciplinary Early Intervention team and also supports children who receive Helping Children with Autism funding.
